Louis Joseph Vance created the detective Michael Lanyard, whose nickname was Lone Wolf. Lanyard was originally a jewel thief, who later achieved success as a private investigator.

The TV series was also known as Streets of Danger, in which Louis Hayward played the role of Lone Wolf. There were 39 episodes of Lone Wolf. Furthermore, there was also a radio show, a lot of films and 8 novels, as well as a comic.
