Markham

(USA, 1959 -1960)

Roy Markham, portrayed by Ray Milland, was a successful lawyer in New York before becoming a private investigator. To solve his cases, he travels all around the world. Markham has no office, the only thing he does have is an answering machine.

He is assisted by John Riggs, played by Simon Scott. However, he was dropped after two months and from then on Markham had to solve his cases alone. Markham is always the perfect gentleman, preferring tweeds, Scotch and soda and cigarettes.

As far as payments are concerned, he differentiates between the rich and the poor. The wealthy clients needed to pay higher prices than does who had nothing but still needed his help.

Writer Sterling Silliphant was also responsible for detective Sam Logan, better known as The Man from Blackhawk.

This series was directed by Richard H. Bartlett and produced by Joseph Sistrom and Warren Duff. The show was a production of Miranda-Revere.
