Michael Shayne

Michael Shayne is another famous fictional private detective. The private investigator with red hair from Miami had a long and successful multimedia career.



Davis Dresser wrote the stories about private detective Shayne, but these were published under the pseudonym Brett Halliday. All in all, there are 77 novels, over 300 short stories, a dozen films, radio and television broadcasts and some comic books.



 



The series was broadcast on TV in the year 1960 and Richard Denning played the role of private detective Michael Shayne. He was the best portrayal of a red-headed Irish private detective who loved the taste of cognac, fights and women.



 



He was assisted in his work by his sexy blonde secretary, Lucy Hamilton, played by Patricia Donahue. Her younger brother, Dick Hamilton, played by Gary Clarke, was a high school student involved from time to time in Shayne's cases.



 



He was also helped by reporter Tim Rourke, played by Jerry Paris, and Will Gentry, the chief of police in Miami, played by Herbert Rudley.



 



The series was produced by Dick Powell's Four Star production.
