Snooper and Blabber

(USA, 1959 - 1962)

Snooper and Blabber were two very different private investigators, since Snooper was a cat and Blabber a mouse. Daws Butler was the voice of both figures, although in some of the earlier episodes Jerry Hausner was the voice of Blabber. The drawings for the series were created by Michael Maltese.

The cat was named Snooper and Snooper was also the one who had the final say in most cases when the two took over a case, while the mouse, which was called Blabber, just did what Snooper assigned him to do.

Snooper was more like a tough guy who spoke very monotonously and his conversations were limited to only the facts. Blubber, however, had a speech impediment, he lisped and therefore had severe difficulties with the letter "s", so he called his partner "Schnooper".

Snooper and Blabber was one of the few series in which a cat with a mouse worked together as a team and were not enemies, as was usual.
