Storyline

Felix Melshior, an employee of the tax investigation authorities, is hit by a bullet and dragged himself to a house. When Frances Piper opens the door, she finds Melshior dying.

Frances then turns to her sister, private detective Laura Holt. Together with her partner, Remington Steele, Laura begins the investigation. The detectives quickly find out that Melshior was investigating Ted Warner’s books, whose company distributes its cosmetics products at private parties.

In order to arrange subsequent inquiries, Laura and Frances decide to do some undercover work in the company. Despite all their efforts, the two can find no evidence why Melshior was investigating Warner.

But then they uncover some clues indicating to the fact that the Mafia could somehow be involved in the company. They further reveal that one of the employees had a relationship with the deceased Felix Melshior.

Whether there is a connection between these two details, remains unclear. But it then becomes clear to the two women that the company is using the Mafia to launder money.
