Storyline

Private detectives Remington Steele and Laura Holt have been commissioned to search for Hollywood star Billie Young, who has been missing for thirty years. During their work, they are constantly accompanied by a camera crew from the TV channel L.A. Spotlight.

Their investigation reveal that the actress has gone missing after the suicide of her best friend, Sally Benson. When Remington and Laura try to talk to Tom Hogan, who was working as a makeup artist for Billie Young, they realize that he had been murdered.

They find out that the private investigator Jack Slater was the one hired to perform the investigation of the missing actress at that time. When Laura Holt and Remington Steele want to talk to Slater, he gives them the impression of avoiding any kind of professional help and behaving extremely uncooperative instead.

Through the assistance of Mildred Krebs Laura and Remington succeed, however, to find the wanted actress. The Hollywood star is living under a false in retirement on the countryside.

As Remington Steele visits the woman in order to talk to her??, he barely manages to prevent an assassination.
