Storyline

Divorce lawyer Malcolm Marcall is convinced that someone is trying to kill him. The successful lawyer therefore commissions private detective Remington Steele to ensure his security.

To protect his wife Loretta from the excitement, he asks Remington Steele and Laura Holt to make sure that she does not find out anything about it. After all, he does not want her to be worried about him.

Disguised as unhappy couple Judy and Bob Pepper, they explain that they want to get a divorce and, thus, get to know both the female and male clients of the divorce lawyer.

As part of their undercover work, Laura and Remington find out that almost every person they have just met, has a motive to kill Marcall. Some even seem to have been thinking about ways to kill the lawyer.

In this episode, the private detectives manage to only barely thwart attacks on the life of their client. And still they do not know neither the identity of the killer, nor his motives.
