Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
Private investigator Laura Holt is living in a pretty loft in a former warehouse. She was home when her flat was being broken into. She was knocked down by the burglar and woke up in a padded cell in a mental hospital.
Helped by Mildred Krebs, she manages to escape from the mental institution. Meanwhile, Remington Steele examines the loft to search for evidence that would point to the offender. He is thereby knocked down by a stranger and found by Laura and Mildred.
After regaining consciousness, Remington, he and Laura realize that the burglars wanted to obtain full access to Laura's loft. But for what reason someone has gone through this trouble, they cannot say at this point.
Their investigations lead Laura to the suspicion that her flat’s owner, Cecil Cosgrove, could be behind it. They believe that Cosgrove, who has recently been released from prison, has hidden 1 million dollars somewhere in the apartment. However, as soon as Cosgrove is murdered, this theory vanishes into thin air.
An arson attack on the house is performed shortly after. Further investigation now focuses on Dixon, head of the Econon Oil company.
