Storyline
Detective Laura Holt’s mood drops to zero when she discovers that Remington Steele has been selected by a leading tabloid magazine as one of the five most eligible bachelors in the country.
Â
What is worse than the award itself is that Steele must spend the day in the company of the attractive and seductive Millicent. Remington's mood is devaluated severely when he learns that, in a very short time, two of the other four winners were murdered.
Â
Combining business with pleasure, the award winner focuses his investigation on the good-looking Millicent and on Moriah Taylor. While Steele is so busy, Laura Holt meets with one of the surviving winners to eat. The evening takes a very tragic turn, however, because Chip Carstairs dies before Laura's eyes from poisoned food.
Â
Then an attack on another one of the most eligible bachelors, Remington Steele, is perpetrated. While accompanying Millicent home, he is hit by a car and the driver of the vehicle fleeds. Laura visits the fifth award winner in his apartment, which the offender has already broken into, but he manages to escape.
Â
Arnold Baskin identifies publisher Victor Janov as the fleeing. The case seems already settled, as the alleged perpetrator, Janov, is found shot shortly after.
