Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
Laura Holt is convinced that the Remington Steele Detective Agency should cultivate their image. Although Steele is strictly against it, he is compelled by Laura, to assume the honorary chair of the Committee for the Protection of the Bald Eagle. Neither the event celebrating his award can change Steele’s mind.
However, when he meets the attractive and appealing Grace Stanton as honourary president, he naturally changes his mind. Grace Stanton grants the detective the assignment to search for her missing colleague, Amos Maxwell. The two find him very quickly - but dead in his bathtub.
Steele naturally informs the committee about the death of one of the members, much to Bishop’s displeasure. The eco-politician plans to sell some land near Lake Solitude so that it can be turned into a nature reserve.
Due to the death of a member of the committee, Bishop now fears that the negative press associated with Maxwell's death could thwart this plan. Although Remington Steele and Laura Holt believe the case to be closed, it is just unveiling, because Steele is kidnapped. The kidnapper offers the investigator a very high amount of cash in exchange for one of Maxwell’s reports.
The kidnapper thinks that Remington Steele has found the report in the house of the deceased. This report deals with Bishops land, which seems totally unsuitable for a nature reserve, as it will be contaminated with toxic substances.
