Storyline

Doris Wagenbacher is a producer of commercials for Gaston Frozen Products. Because there are often discussions between the actors Heather St. Germaine and Derek Vivyan, the producer employs the detectives of the Remington Steele Detective Agency to ensure a smooth filming process.

Heather, following the script, has so far offered the advertised frozen products to her colleague Derek in the previous commercials. In the current spot, Derek wants to finally be the one offering the product and Heather be the one reaching for the food.

Everything goes as planned until Derek’s parrot nibbles on the food and dies shortly after. Is it an assassination? And who was the intended victim? Although Heather immediately expresses her suspicion that Derek wanted to murder her out of hatred, both actors had the opportunity to poison the food.

As part of their investigation, the two private investigators find out that Derek was not the only one who had a motive. For example, director Stan would be better off if the commercials were stopped because he could thus end his contract and make a film.

After Stan's wife, Mady, found out about her husband's affair with Heather, she also had a motive. And client Doris Wagenbacher has a strong motive to sabotage the commercials. A competitor of Gaston Frozen Products had offered the producer a lucrative contract.

One of the provisions of the agreement was that the spots of the Gaston company would be cancelled. During the investigation, Derek informs Laura and Remington of the fact that Heather has asked him to come to the studio during the evening.

As a reason for this meeting she has stated that she knew the identity of the alleged perpetrator and wanted to talk to Derek about it.
