Storyline

Laura Holt is in Mexico to look for Hector Figuera, the missing son of her housekeeper. Remington Steele followed her because he's worried about his partner. Unfortunately, the tax investigator Mildred Krebs is following his every move so that he first ties her up in his suite back at the Hotel.

Their investigation leads Laura and Remington to Jack Markle, who works as an inspector with the US Customs Service. Since the inspector suspects them to have smuggled stolen diamonds, their only choice is to cooperate with Jack.

Merkle explains Remington and Laura that Paul, a dealer of stolen goods, was the contact person of a gang of smugglers. To gain access to this band, Laura approaches Paul while undercover and is afterwards invited to a party held by Alexander Sebastian.

However, she does not know at this point, that her cover is already blown. A powerful narcotic suppresses her further activity and Remington can only save her with the help of Mildred Krebs.
