Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
The complications brought by the marriage of Remington Steele and Laura Holt are not easily resolved. The couple is on the hunt for an alleged art thief on his way to London.
They realize there, however, that this art thief is only an invention of Tony Roselli, an employee of the US Immigration Authorities. Roselli tells the private detectives that he is in possession of evidence that would prove that Remington and Laura have a sham marriage so that the Brit Remington Steele would be deported from the United States.
Unless Steele would carry out an order for Roselli, he will disclose this information. Since Remington hardly has an alternative, he agrees to act as a messenger, who allegedly passes classified information to Edward Helmsley, whom the British intelligence wishes to expose as a double agent.
While Remington Steele performs the task, his wife, Laura, is finding out more interesting things. Remington Steele will receive a large inheritance, which also explains why his former lover, Shannon, is suddenly very interested in Steele.
Laura also discovers that Shannon has stolen precious jewels and is now being pursued by their owners. Laura Holt uses this information to make Shannon a proposal. They will even help Shannon to free themselves from their predicament, if Shannon leaves Remington Steele alone and simply disappears.
