Tom Selleck as Private Detective Thomas Magnum
Storyline
Brigadier General Alistair Folkes has been able to capture terrorists with close links to the IRA terrorist organization. These terrorists are informed during their trial that the IRA is planning an attack on the brigadier. Therefore, Folkes is now on the estate of writer Robin Masters, so private detective Magnum has to vacate the guest house. The fact that the brigadier is accompanied by two attractive stewardesses is only a small consolation to Thomas Magnum =.
Fearing an attack, the brigadier is shielded from the outside world, so Masters' estate is to be sealed off. Thomas Magnum is also hired to guard the property and, during his hours, notes that a male person, identified as Jerry Samspon, is taking photographs of the property from a boat. During a search of Sampson's apartment, the private investigator finds some explosives, which also makes the Secret Service focus more on the matter.
The next day, brigadier Folkes decides to change his location, so he is driven by two soldiers and Higgins to the airport in an Audi. After their departure, Magnum realizes that he had seen a manual for an Audi and an invoice for parts in Sampson's apartment. It becomes clear to him that Folkes and his companions are now in real danger. Can he succeed in time to prevent an attack?
