(United Kingdom, 1957-1959)
After detective Vic Steel (played by Rex Garner) turned his back on the police and the SWAT team, he founded the private detective agency Shadow Squad.
Steel was thereby assisted by his former London colleague, the reliable Ginger Smart (played by George Moon). Steel and Smart solved almost every case, however, they sometimes needed the help of their cleaning lady, named Moggs (played by Kathleen Boutall), who often noticed important evidence that the two detectives may have left behind.
The first 26 episodes were filmed in London and produced by Associated Rediffusion, directed by Michael Scott and Robert Tronson, but, after 13 adventures, Granada Television produced the rest.
Actor Rex Garner left the series and was replaced by Peter Williams; he played the character of Don Carter, a former police inspector.
