Shotgun Slade

(USA, 1959 - 1961)

The series Shotgun Slade, starring Scott Brady, was an American Western series broadcast between October 24th 1959 and 1961. The series was created and produced by Frank Gruber and was a Shotgun / Revue production for MCA.

The series Shotgun Slade had a few features that made ??it unique, such as Slade's career, since he was a private detective and not a Western Marshall, a sheriff or a wandering gunman as it is usual in this genre.

He was employed to, for example, bring criminals to justice, recover stolen money or clarify about other crimes. Another special feature was the gun he was carrying.

It was a combined weapon, which had an upper and a lower run. From the lower one he could shoot a 12 gauge shotgun shell and from the upper one a 32 calibre bullet. With this gun, Slade was able to shoot at targets in his immediate vicinity or at targets that were farther away with the same accuracy.
