Storyline

Private detective Wilsberg is commissioned by Torsten Schmitt to follow his wife, Elvira, who he suspects of infidelity.

Wilsberg begins the investigation and reaches the conclusion that his target is meeting a man in a hotel. Elvira is shot shortly after and the man she met has already disappeared.

Inspector Anna Wilsberg’s colleague, Overbeck, is at this moment on a business trip and runs over the killer while he was storming out of the hotel, who is brought into the hospital with deep wounds.

Wilsberg’s further investigations lead him to journalist Ingo Peters, the man who Elvira was seeing at the hotel. Peters hardly makes an impression on Wilsberg. He denies knowing an Elivra Schmitt. Wilsberg finds out that Elvira has been working for the Kehrer Agricultural Engines company.

Coincidentally, Wilsberg’s friend, Ekki, is currently doing a tax audit at this firm and is assisted by attorney Karla Berhenke.

Ekki finds out from Karla that her colleague, Elvira, had never been married. Since this obviously means that Torsten Schmitt was not her husband, the question arises about who Torsten Schmitt really is.

Secret construction plans are found hidden in Elvira’s apartment. When journalist Peter is found dead in front of his house, the detective no longer believes in the theory of a suicide.
