The Shot at Dawn

First Broadcast: October 20th 2001

Leonard Lansink as Detective Wilsberg

Storyline

The spouse of green city treasurer Jutta Rausch employs private detective Wilsberg as bodyguard to his wife, because he has become concerned about her safety ever since receiving an anonymous letter. However, since his wife is very stubborn, Wilsberg must do his best so as not to be observed.

While conducting his work, Wilsberg finds out that his protectee has a relationship with party member Dietzelbach. She accompanies Dietzelbach to a private flat after a romantic dinner and Georg Wilsberg has to set up for an all-nighter. Dietzelbach is shot during his morning jogging session in the forest the next morning.

Because a neighbour has seen the private detective standing in front of Dietzelbach’s apartment and has reported this to the police, represented by Head Inspector Springer, Wilsberg must provide the necessary explanations as to what he was doing in front of his building in the night prior to the murder.
