High Flying Steele

Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele

Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt

Storyline

In order to shed light on an issue, fortuneteller Mildred examines the premises of the Remington Steele Detective Agency. The detective agency is broken into during the same night. The traces found and the initial investigations indicate that the offender would be a part of a circus crew.

The name of a trapeze artist, Terk, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances a few years ago turns up in the process. Terk and his partner, Guy Nickerson, had been wanted for years for a serious theft.

Nickerson was captured and spent several years in prison, while his buddy and partner Terk could never be caught and simply disappeared. Remington Steele and Laura Holt turn to Guy Nickerson to investigate the theft, whereby he offers them the chance to rehearse together for a new show, so that the two detectives can perform a discrete investigation.

The episode, however, presents various attacks on the two detectives and it becomes clear to them that trapeze artist Nickerson is the actual prime suspect. However, what happened at the final rehearsal was more than a mere coincidence.

One of the fortifications was sabotaged, whereupon both Guy and Laura almost crashed. Everything indicates that the sabotage was targetting their lives. This compelling argument clearly favoured Nickerson’s innocence.

Is there a possibility that the missing Terk is still alive? Remington Steele and Laura Holt decide not to give up and appear in a performance alongside Nickerson the following evening.
