Breath of Steele

Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele

Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt

Storyline

Singing telegrams are a nice idea for surprising someone on their birthday or on another occassion. The two young women Terry and Tony work as such singing telegrams.

On Remington Steele's birthday, the singing telegram girls show up at his office door to wish him a happy birthday. While the two girls sing their birthday greeting, they are suddenly shot.

Asked about their daily routine, Tony and Terry say that today they have also been singing at the house of Myron Fowler, a manufacturer of oral sprays. Remington Steele and Laura Holt make their way to his company and find the owner dead in his office.

Have the girls unknowingly seen his murderer? As part of the investigation of Fowler's death and the attack on the two girls, the two private investigators talk to Brenda, the second wife of the deceased, and his son, Chip.

They also want to contact Nathan Fitts, the manager of the company. All three people react rather indifferent to Fowler's death, which makes at least his widow and his son richer by a few millions.

When the two private investigators find out that Chip was threatened by his father to be disinherited, Fowler's son moves into the focus of the investigation. But then Nathan Fitts lures Tony and Terry into an abandoned house.
