Storyline

Remington Steele and Laura Holt receive a visit at their detective agency. It is former Major Percy Descoine, known to the viewers from the episode Steele Framed, who had already caused Remington and Laura sufficient problems.

Descoine tells the two surprised detectives that her life would be over in less than an hour. The vengeful former major disappears shortly after, before the detectives can even utter a word. The motive for Descoine’s practices is the suicide of his wife after he had been imprisoned by Laura Holt.

To achieve his goal, namely the murder of the two detectives, the ex-major has teamed up with his daughter and assistant Descoine. Among the weapons used by him in this episode are a bear trap, an underwater cage and other, even technical, gadgets with which Remington and Laura are to lose their lives.

The prerequisite for the final and decisive step for this to work is for the US postal service to become unreliable.
