Storyline
As Remington Steele is British, the US Immigration Authorities are threatening him with expulsion from the United States. There is only one way to save him from deportation and Laura Holt thereby seizes this opportunity to get married to Remington Steele.
Mildred Krebs gets the newly-weds a paid honeymoon in Mexico, whereby the couple immediately making themselves on their way. Norman Keyes, who is working as a civil servant for the Immigration Authorities is, however, firmly believed that the marriage of the two private investigators is a sham marriage in order to keep Steele from expulsion.
Keyes follows Remington and Laura to Mexico in order to gather evidence that would support his theory. In Mexico, Remington and Laura confess their feelings for each other for the first time. Shortly after, Laura is attacked by some thugs and the worse is prevented only by the intervention of archaeologist Tony Roselli. Of course, Remington and Laura express their gratitude.
However, they do not know at this point that Roselli has been ordered to intervene heroically during the attack so as to gain Laura’s trust. In the meantime, Norman Keyes arrives in Mexico and begins his investigation of the marriage.
When it comes to a confrontation between Remington Steele and Norman Keyes, Steele knocks down the official. Shortly afterwards, however, Keyes is murdered and Remington Steele becomes a suspect.
