Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
Private investigator Remington Steele is not to be found by his partner Laura Holt and secretary Mildred Krebs. Since he is completely in the dark about his background, he has gone into hiding in order to shed some light on the issue.
A pocket watch, bearing an engravement of a few letters, is the only clue that could potentially lead him to his goal. His inquiries, in which the name of the English Earl of Claridge keeps popping up, lead Steele from Los Angeles to England.
It seems, however, as though Earl of Claridge were connected with a series of murders of women. Is he Earl’s son and is his father a serial killer? Laura and Mildred are meanwhile looking for Steele and thereby encounter the name Douglas Quintain, suspecting that this is only another one of Steele’s pseudonyms.
When they find out that he is in England, they make their way there immediately. When they arrive in London and manage to gather some information, they realize that they themselves are being watched, and that the police seem to have a particular interest in finding Steele.
Quite unexpectedly Laura meets Steele, who seems completely down-and-out and, before she can ask him something, he disappears again. However, it will not be long before Steele resurfaces. He seeks contact with Laura because he is hurt. At that meeting, he tells her what has driven him to London.
