Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele

Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt

Storyline

Remington Steele and Laura Holt have arranged to host a large Christmas Party in their detective agency, whereby they have also hired a Santa Claus, who will distribute gifts to the guests.

However, the celebration turns out to develop quite differently than the hosts were expecting. Three gangsters in Santa Claus costumes suddently appear instead of the Santa Claus they have ordered.

However, they do not intend on distributing three times the amount of gifts, but they make use of weapons and violence and demand a ransom in the amount of $2 million for the guests.

Initially considered to be a joke, the guests of the Christmas party learn otherwise when they hear an explosion on an upper floor of the building, which causes them to fear for their lives.

When Mildred Krebs tries to escape, the orthopedic surgeon Dr. Scabbard is shot in the foot, which only makes matters worse. Everyone handles the attack differently and Eva Wilson, a kindergarden teacher, begins to recite Buddhist prayers, to the annoyance of others.

Remington Steele and Laura Holt are clueless as to what they can do to solve the matter. Based on what the captors are saying, the two private investigators can sense that they are still waiting for another perpetrator. When he gets in touch with them by telephone, the kindergarden teacher, Eva Wilson, is sent by one of the hostage takers, to take the ransom.

However, as she does not return and the fourth offender does not contact them again, the kidnappers are increasingly nervous and impatient.
