Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
The Wellington family live in a large house on a large property, having a large number of staff at their service. When the body of Winston Hastings, the family butler, is found in the house, everyone seems clueless.
Greta Svensen, who, as housekeeper to the Wellington family, kept close contact with the deceased, turns to the Steele Detective Agency. Remington Steele and Laura Holt are to find out who killed Winston. She has a strong presumption that the offender belongs to the family, but more detailed information that could confirm their suspicions were unfortunately not provided by their client.
The possibility for a discreet investigation is quickly devised by the private detectives. Remington Steele will be introduced to the House of Wellington as an unemployed English butler trying to find work. During his tenure, he should gather information undercover.
Meanwhile Laura and Mildred manage to gain access into the house disguised as reporters. After
moving into the guest room, the two women begin to gather information and to subject the family to a discreet examination.
