Storyline

The old cult TV series Atomic Man still has a lot of fans, who call themselves Tommies. Producer Steven Spooner is planning to re-film this series, intention which displeases actor Maxwell Donahue, who played the title character at that time.

At a press conference, Donahue goes as far as to say publicly that he would kill Spooner if he would continue his remake plans.

When Steven Spooner is murdered shortly after, Donahue is naturally right in the middle of the investigation. After all, he has already announced the deed publicly. Being the prime suspect of the police, he becomes subject to a search warrant.

Private investigator Laura Holt is a big fan of Atomic Man, and participates in a congress of the Tommies. During the congress, she contacts Maxwell Donahue and offers her help. She is willing to take the risk of prosecution for aiding and abetting escape, but it does not even have to come to such an accusation.

Donahue accepts her offer and Laura Holt begins her investigation immediately in order to find the real killer of Spooner and discharge Donahue.
