Storyline

Laura is good friends with the Japanese Mike Ito. When his brother Kenji is run over and the driver of the car dies shortly thereafter, Laura Holt and Remington Steele agree to investigate the death of Mike's brother Kenji.

During their investigation, the two detectives meet Major Craddock. The major, who is working for the military intelligence says Kenji had links with arms smugglers. They keep stumbling on the name "Celestial Palace".

Remington Steele meets a young Japanese woman in a cinema bearing the same name. She tells the detective that Kenji was a member of the Japanese mafia Yakuza and that she was his girlfriend. Shortly after, Tanaka, the leader of the Jakuza, kidnaps Mike Ito and then also the two detectives.

In exchange for Mike's life, Tanaka demands the Celestial Palace from the detectives. Although neither Laura nor Remington have any idea what it it could be, they agree to it.

Shortly thereafter, Laura manages to outsmart Tanaka’s guards so that she can flee with Remington and Mike. The three then find out that Mike's brother Kenji is not dead. He faked his death only to protect himself from the Japanese mafia.
