Storyline

The character of the unlucky Dick Darkside is now introduced in a very popular comic strip. Darkside is extremely unlucky, because there is hardly anything that he does not fail at, and life generally does not treat him too well.

Comic artist Arthur Wayne is quite surprised and initially amused that Dick Darkside looks a lot like him. However, after he becomes a victim of several recurring minor accidents, and he recently keeps getting himself into dangerous situations, his surprise turns into concern.

Therefore, Arthur, nicknamed Arte, turns to private detectives Remington Steele and Laura Holt. They should find out for him, whether someone is out to get him and may even want to kill him.

During their inquiries, the private investigators encounter the artist Raymond Kelly, who could possibly feel threatened by emerging talents such as Arte. Although the private investigators suspect the cartoonist, whether this perceived threat is sufficient motive is at least questionable.
