Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
Fashion designer Baron has granted detective Remington Steele the assignment of providing for the safety at his fashion show. Remington and Laura thereby observe Blaustein, one of the designer’s tailors, taking photos of the collection.
Remington Steele then tries to confiscate the tailor’s camera and, in particular, the film. While Remington is busy, bodybuilder Carl steals a jacket and disappears.
As part of their investigation, the two detectives come across the fact that the designer, Baron, and the tailor, Blaustein, are brothers. Why did Blaustein take photos of his brother’s collection? And what does this have to do with the missing jacket?
Further investigations lead the private detective to Lila, who is in possession of the stolen jackets, in which a film is hidden, that Lila hopes will make for big business. But it is not this film that is valuable to the the garment.
However, before Lila finds out the truth, Laura tricks her and steals her jacket. Both Remington Steele and Laura Holt wonder why seemingly everyone is after this garment. They then find out that this is not just a normal jacket is, but a bulletproof one.
Thus, this assignment becomes a case of industrial espionage, since it is clear that there are many people interested in this very light but bulletproof fabric.
