Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele
Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt
Storyline
Private detectives Remington Steele and Laura Holt are more than surprised when they are prompted to inspect the morgue in Los Angeles without receiving any additional information.
To their even greater surprise, they are expected to identify a deceased named Remington Steele, who they, however, do not know. Their immediate preliminary investigation reveals that it is in fact Larry, a "business partner" of little goon George Mulch.
Since the deceased had a piece of paper containing an address on him, Laura and Remington make their way to the indicated location. This day seems to have a lot of surprises in store, because this address seems to host an exact replica of their office.
Shortly thereafter, however, the two detectives are kidnapped by a henchman of Mrs. Underwood’s and brought to her. It turns out that she has appointed someone to impersonate private investigator Remington Steele. In order to perform his tasks, she had given the man a package that she would now like to retrieve.
During their subsequent inquiries, the two private detectives find out that George Mulch, whose business partners lies dead at the morgue in Los Angeles as Remington Steele, is to become rich thanks to one of his clever ideas. He came up with the idea of opening a series of Remington Steele Detective Agencies all across America and earn the royalties vigorously.
But this information does not help the two investigators much.
